Performance

Definition

The Performance of a Portfolio or of an Asset can be expressed in two different ways:

• The Internal Rate of Return (IRR). The IRR is recommended to be used to measure the return of investments in private securities (where investors cannot freely invest in or sell additional Assets).
• The Time-Weighted Return (TWR). The TWR is recommended to be used to measure the return of investments in public securities (where investors are able to freely invest in or sell additional Assets).
